1. Overview
Bugtrak is an issue-tracking product for product and engineering teams. We collect only what we need to provide the service, keep accounts secure, improve the product, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up or sign in (including via our authentication provider), we process identifiers such as name, email address, profile image, and a unique user ID.
Workspace content. Content you and your teammates create in Bugtrak, including workspaces, projects, issues, comments, labels, attachments, messages, settings, and similar data you choose to store in the product.
Usage and device data. Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and product events that help us operate, secure, and debug the service.
Communications. If you contact us (for example by email), we keep the content of that correspondence and related metadata.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate users and protect accounts
- Send product, security, and (where enabled) digest notifications
- Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms
- Monitor reliability, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
4. Sharing
We share personal information only in limited cases:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf (for example hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and file storage), under contractual confidentiality and security obligations
- Workspace members and admins who are authorized to access content you place in a shared workspace
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under US state privacy laws.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences (such as theme), security, and basic product analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit features of the Service.
6. Data retention
We retain account and workspace data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain logs and backups for a limited period for security, legal, and operational reasons. You or a workspace owner may delete content according to product controls; residual copies may persist in backups until they expire.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and for content you choose to upload.
8. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile through the Service or your identity provider. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example in the product or by email).
